For commissioned, site-specific work, elements of the design — the scale of the strips and the overall configuration — are generated from the site itself.

Each tapestry is constructed of separately woven vertical strips incorporating weft cords which are tied to form the fabric. These cords are both pictorial and structural — they visually subdivide while structurally uniting the woven field.

As in all of my weaving, my working process employs methods borrowed from the act of writing: I interject woven quotations from my artistic sources, delete sections to reveal the wall beneath, and rearrange, add and subtract strips as if revising a written text.
